The RN- ICC provides clinically skilled, comprehensive nursing services to San Diego Hospice inpatient care center patients in accordance with the treatment and care plan dictated by the patient, family, and patient's primary care physician; and participates in activities of the Inpatient Care Center interdisciplinary team. Employee is expected to learn and utilize a windows compliant computer system. Proficiency and appropriate utilization is a requirement of the job role.
Education: Must be a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing, who is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of California. A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in nursing from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing is highly preferred. A Public Health Nurse credential is desirable. Must possess a valid CPR certification. Bilingual abilities preferred.
Experience: Requires a minimum of a) one year acute care or home health experience as a professional nurse within the last 3 years or b) a baccalaureate degree in nursing from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing. Must have an understanding of the principles and practices of acute care nursing, with specific knowledge of principles of nursing care within the scope of palliative medicine. Requires an understanding of the interpersonal dynamics operative within an interdisciplinary health care team and knowledge of the dying and bereavement processes. Possess basic knowledge or aptitude to operate a computer, knowledge of basic software programs is preferred.
