  • Responsible for growing assigned respiratory, home medical equipment or infusion product areas on a quarterly basis for specific accounts defined by management. 

  • Responsible for enhancing branch revenue budgets by servicing new and existing referral sources in these accounts. 

  • Promotes company products and services in a professional and creative manner. 

  • Develops strong relationships with existing customer contacts and new referral sources in order to increase referrals from targeted accounts.

  • Conduct pre-call planning and meets minimum call standard through individual contacts and group in-services.

  • Responsible for interaction with referral sources, physicians, and patients to facilitate the intake process, patient teaching, and patient discharge on-site at the acute care setting or physician's office for respiratory products and services. 

  • Obtains necessary paperwork and documentation, including physician orders and Certificates of Medical Necessity, and obtains required patient information. 

  • Coordinates the discharge and communicates intake and referral information to the servicing Apria Healthcare branch. 

  • Performs patient teaching for patient to be able to operate equipment/perform therapy.

  • Monitors the referral process to assure patient and referral source satisfaction. 

  • Works with sales staff, customer service, and branch manager to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products and services and a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Maintains accurate records on prospective and active accounts. 

  • Maintains accurate records on all accounts, documenting all activity related to referrals, case management and problem resolution. 

  • Is accurate and complete in noting and communicating information to branch personnel for the intake and referral process.

  • Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.


 

  • Education or experience equivalent to a four year college degree is required; BA or BS preferred. 

  • At least two years related experience in sales, sales support, medical, and/or a clinical background is required.

  • Registration or certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) in the appropriate state of practice, or current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the appropriate state of practice is preferred.

  • Successful completion of Apria's Clinical Accounts Specialist orientation and certification program.

  • If driving a company vehicle, must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A. and JCAHO regulations.

  • Must possess a valid and current driver's license and auto insurance.
