Job Description:  GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Assists in the provision of screens, collection of assessment data, and direct treatment to a general rehab caseload and under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist; Participates in the clinical team process; Provides teaching and training to care giver staff; Participates in clinical program development

Direct supervision from Director of Rehabilitation and the supervising Occupational Therapist

  SUPERVISION EXERCISED

Supervises the Rehab Tech and/or Rehab Aide under the direction of the licensed Occupational Therapist

  PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts patient/resident screens (without interpretation) as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Collects assessment data, as part of the evaluation process, as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Maintains vital company clinical productivity at the basic level or higher and efficiency on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor
  • Documents patient/resident progress toward meeting established goals as stated in the treatment plan outlined by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Provides training to patients, residents, caregivers and families according to the plan of care outlined by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Prepares treatment materials and assists with other clerical duties as directed by the Occupational Therapist
  • Participates with the Occupational Therapist in research projects, in-service training and public relations programs
  • Participates in quality improvement activitiesUnder a physician's order, provides direct treatment to patients/residents as directed by, and according to the plan of care outlined by, the supervising Occupational Therapist where allowed by law. Treatment venue includes one-on-one, supervised and group
  • Completes documentation of direct treatment provided within established time frames
  • Abides by applicable state law with regard to maintaining supervision log
  • Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department
  • Participates and cooperates as an interdisciplinary team member in designing patient/resident care

  • Exhibits courtesy, compassion and respect to patients, residents, families, caregivers, visitors, physicians, administrators, responsible parties, and co-workers

Required Experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Associates Degree from an AOT A accredited programMust have a active and valid Professional Licensure/Registration where required by state law as a Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • Demonstrates proficiency in technology skills including current word processing  and spreadsheet use
  • Utilizes effective time management skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
