Job Description: 

  • Consistently and genuinely demonstrate the STARS principles of Service, Teamwork, Action, Reputation and Success in all activities and interactions.

  • Greets residents, family members, and guests; assists with seating, assuring a pleasant dining experience for everyone.

  • Assigns and oversees dining room tasks to waitstaff.

  • Assists with the set up and nightly closing of the dining room and kitchen.

  • Fills in as server when needed.

  • Executes the opening and closing of the dining room.

  • Manages room service orders.

  • Assures that meal counts are properly recorded.

  • Keeps the environment safe for associates, residents, and guests.

  • Participates in and attends all required in-service training and education programs as scheduled.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manages Waitstaff.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with BVSL policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in food service.

  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong customer orientation to older adults.

  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm and energy.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
