Job Description: 

  • Consistently and genuinely demonstrate the STARS principles of Service, Teamwork, Action, Reputation and Success in all activities and interactions.

  • Designs, documents, updates and ensures proper implementation of a comprehensive resident care plan in accordance with all state and local regulations and the highest standards of nursing practice.

  • Provides nursing assessments, care oversight and quality assurance for all residents in conjunction with the Executive Director and where applicable the delegating registered nurse.

  • Monitors and ensures the accurate delivery of medications to residents; including ensuring proper storage, distribution, re-ordering and discontinuation of medication(s).

  • Interacts with the resident’s physician, pharmacist and medical personnel as needed.

  • Reviews all incident reports and recommend necessary changes to Executive Director.

  • Recruits and selects associates following BVSL hiring standards and tools; forward final candidates to Executive Director for final approval.

  • Ensures appropriate staffing is in place at all times to meet BVSL service standards and to remain in compliance with any/all regulatory requirements.

  • Ensures resident billings/level of care charges appropriately reflect the care and services the resident currently receives.

  • Purchases equipment/supplies in accordance with established budgets, purchasing policies and procedures.

  • Effectively administers and participates in Brightview’s “Manager on Duty” program.

  • Participates in and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.

  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manages Nursing associates , Medication Technicians and Resident Assistant associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with BVSL policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing.

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.

  • Experience in geriatric nursing or gerontology and dementia care (where applicable).

  • 2 years experience in a health care supervisory role.

  • Experience in medication administration and hands on personal care.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong customer orientation to older adults.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.

  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm and energy.
