Assignments to a senior community may occur during a staff vacancy, vacation, etc. The time frame of the assignments will vary greatly, based on the needs of each property. While assigned to a senior community, you will manage the day-to-day dining services operations of the community. Assist with planning, directing, training & coordinating the activities of the food service departments within the assigned division.  Will operate as the Director of Dining Services at the community, hire & train appropriate staff, resolve food cost problems, resolve food quality issues, address sanitation concerns & improve efficiency of dining services operation. Provide training, supervision, and monitoring of associates. You will report to our Regional and/or Divisional Director of Dining Services and work closely with our property based Executive Directors.

Please note you may be assigned to a senior community that may be away from your home location for extended periods of time (normally Monday - Friday).

Note that this is a full time permanent position with company benefits.

Location
Territory includes assisted living and memory care communities in Michigan with the possibility of traveling throughout the North Division. Depending on location of assignment, overnight stays may be required.

Other responsibilities include:

• Coordinates food service activities in the dining room
• Confers with staff and residents to plan menus and related activities
• Oversees cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of dining room and equipment and facilities and ensures that all health and safety regulations are adhered to
• Directs hiring, assignment, training, motivation and termination of personnel

Required Skills:

• Must be ServSafe certified
• Must be licensed according to state requirements
• Must have valid driver license & access to a private vehicle for business use
• Experience working with seniors & older adults beneficial
• Must have the flexibility to travel across Michigan for assignments at Brookdale Senior Communities.
