Job Description: 

 Westmont Living, Inc., a premier provider of retirement living, assisted living and memory care has opened a brand new community in Morgan Hill, CA, where people come first; it is not about being big, but about being good. Our new community is a “state of the art,” 86 apartment senior residence offering retirement, assisted and memory care living.

 BASIC FUNCTION/DUTIES: 

This position is responsible for:

  • Attractively prepares meals that are appealing and tasty, and served at the right temperature per the menu and schedule
  • Prepares special limited diets per policy
  • Identifies menu errors and makes appropriate corrections as needed, bring the necessary changes to the Culinary Services Director’s attention
  • Keeps kitchen clean and orderly following cleaning schedule
  • Properly stores, dates and rotates food per food handling guidelines
  • Interacts with residents in dining room after everyone is served to determine resident satisfaction of meals.
  • Prepares attractive and tasty alternatives per the menu.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Current Food Handlers Permit for state in which employed.
  • Clean drug and alcohol test; able to pass criminal background check prior to initial presence in the community.
  • Professional experience in food volume preparation.
  • Experience in proper food handling, preparation and storage.
  • Can present self in professional manner at all times.
  • Willing and able to adapt to changes in kitchen routine at any given time. Ability to effectively communicate in English
