Senior Healthcare Services, a subsidiary of Vi, seeks a clinical leader for a Director of Nursing in a new home care office in the Palo Alto, California Vi CCRC community. Successful incumbent will have home care experience, strong clinical skills, and the ability to apply high professional standards in an entrepreneurial work environment. Responsibilities include the following:
Oversees the professional staff, para-professional staff, and Home Health Aides to fulfill their position requirements. Supervises clinical staff including all relevant human resources functions: hiring, terminations, counseling, retention, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, staff development and training. Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the Senior Healthcare Services standards of care and practice, mission, and values through behavior and attitude.
Operates as a liaison with contracted Medicare agencies, community personnel, customers and customers’ families/representatives. Oversees training for the staff. Directs and Manages agency admission, reassessment, and discharge processes. Participates in client and family education and counseling. Facilitates teamwork between home care and ancillary services to promote effective care delivery. Functions as a customer service liaison to hear and help resolve issues of concern. Meets with community personnel, potential clients, and family members as needed. Helps develop and implement quality improvement programs.

Requirements
Leadership skills including the ability to act collaboratively as a partner.
Ability to organize and prioritize effectively to ensure timely completion of all responsibilities.
Excellent analytical and deductive reasoning skills, good judgment, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent clinical skills and practices within standards of nursing practice.
Knowledge of Medicare and State rules and regulations for Home Care.
Passion for serving the senior population.
Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and various reporting tools. Ability to learn and become proficient in McKesson Horizon home care software.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Nursing or related health care field a plus. Interest in geriatric nursing as evidenced by coursework, seminars, or other professional activities.

Work Experience: 5 years or more in progressive leadership and management roles. Substantial experience establishing standards and implementing programs and systems for all aspects of operating a home care agency. 1 year home care management experience.

Licensure / Certification, where required: Nursing Certification in a related nursing specialty preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
