This position would preferably be located in Denver, Co or at our corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, California; however this position has flexibility regarding the location
 
Summary:
 
We are growing and positioning ourselves to dominate the home healthcare industry.  In this process we have embarked on exciting transformational changes with strategic sales expansion. We have been laying the ground work for the past two years and are now ready to take our sales training initiatives to the next level.
 
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Sales Operations, The Director of Sales Training is the primary interface with senior sales leadership, sales, and marketing leadership relative to sales training initiatives for our Respiratory and Infusion business consisting of over 1250 sales and sales management staff with 6 direct reports.
 
Your mission will be integrating sales training for two separate businesses and driving field sales force development and efficiencies. This would include proposing strategic training direction, and overseeing the field execution of the sales training vision and strategy to achieve performance and sales objectives. This director will promote retention and adoption of core competencies through creating & delivering unique and effective sales tools, job aids, and multi-media resources.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that new sales employees at every level are rapidly integrated into the Apria sales team with an effective training program. 
  • Oversee the scheduling and deployment of sales training staff. 
  • Oversee all pre-training activities and post-training measures.
  • Oversee the development of a sales manager training program, a managed care selling training program, and revisions and improvements to Apria's current new hire training programs. 
  • Ensure that all training programs use the most efficient and effective delivery vehicle.  Where possible, direct training efforts through the online Apria Training Network to maximize training ROI.  Where "stand up" training is most effective, ensure that the value of the sales training delivered justifies the investment.
  • Oversee all sales training personnel.  Create opportunities for each sales training professional to upgrade their skills and value to the company by creating or delivering new programs and/or developing new training methods or programs. 
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance appraisal and disciplining of subordinate staff.  Ensures project deadlines and performance standards are established and met.
  • Measure the impact of sales training on sales force productivity.  Periodically review the sales training programs and productivity measures with the field sales management team to identify additional training needs.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Education or experience equivalent to a four-year college degree is required.
  • At least ten years related experience is required.
  • Experience in training program development and conducting training is required.
