Public Group active 1 year, 12 months agoBecause even when working in Senior Care, issues can arise within our work environment. Perhaps you are relocating, pulled your back, are at odds with management, have a frustrating peer or subordinate relationship, or in general need some advice. This is a good place to start that conversation.

I have been working with hospice for a few years now as an independent referral from the nureses or patient family friends. NA administer meds under supervision of the nurse and so you may have to go in as an aide unless you plan on nursing degree because in home that is what is needed other than social worker and chaplain.

I’ve been out of LTC nursing for several years…ok, almost 10! I am considering a return…
I’m wondering if computerized charting is the norm in long term care facilities now? How has documentation changed over the decade?

In more and more cases, it seems that the nurse/patient ratio is too high to provide quality care in LTC. In my experience, having only one nurse responsible for providing QUALITY care for up to 28 residents is beyond realistic expectations. I am curious to hear how other nurses feel about the nurse/patient ratios in [...]

If your friend possesses BSN or a higher degree, she has good chances of being a military nurse.

I once heard that there were some internship programs for those not having BSNs. I am not sure if the military still offers any such option.

Military takes only those only nurses who have BSN or higher degrees. So, your friend needs to have it to make it there.

I think that 44 years is the cut off age in case you wish to join the military.
